Trigonometric Identities and Formulas
This unit is simply a memorization unit. Knowing equivalent trigonometric expressions and being able to substitute one for another may be the key to solving or failing to solve a simple calculus problem.
In the chart below, please focus on memorizing the following categories of trigonometric identities:
1) Reciprocal Identities
2) Quotient Identities
3) Pythagorean Identities
4) Even/Odd Identities
5) Double-Angle Formulas
While the other identities and formulas in the chart are good to know, they will not be essential to your success in our course.

Practice: Spend some time studying the trigonometric identities and formulas presented above. Work on memorizing them for the year so you do not have to go back and learn them over and over again. You may want to try using flash cards to help you memorize them forward and backwards.
Assignment: There is not an assignment for Unit 3: Trigonometric Identities. Once you have reviewed the identities thoroughly, you may take the quiz below. The quiz is not self grading, but will give you an idea of what types of questions I might ask about the unit circle in the future. You do not need to submit the quiz.
